    Tom Gordy

    Tom Gordy was elected on November 7, 2023 to represent the Brentsville Magisterial District on the Prince William County Board Supervisors.  Prior to his election, Tom served on the Prince William County Planning Commission representing the Brentsville District.  He was also a charter member of the Prince William County Veterans Commission representing the Brentsville District, and served as its first chairman. 

    Tom is the President of the Armed Forces Marketing Council where he supports, strengthens, and enhances quality of life benefits for military families by engaging with congressional, Department of Defense and military resale leaders to address issues of concern to the members of the Council.  

    Prior to this role, Tom worked as a Senior Strategic Communications Consultant for The Wexford Group/CACI, supporting the congressional and public affairs directorates of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, which worked to develop solutions and training to protect our deployed military personnel from roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. 

    Tom also served on Capitol Hill as a Communications Director, Defense Policy Advisor, and Chief of Staff to two successive Members of Congress representing Virginia’s Second Congressional District.  

    In December 2002, Tom was commissioned as a U.S. Navy Reserve Public Affairs Officer. From March 2009 to February 2010, Tom was mobilized to active duty and deployed to Iraq as the Legislative Affairs Officer and Deputy Public Affairs Officer to the Commander, Multi-National Forces-Iraq. Achieving the rank of Captain, he is currently assigned as the Reserve Deputy Director of Public Affairs, supporting U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany, and, in May, 2024, will become the National Emergency Preparedness Liaison Office’s Reserve Public Affairs Officer, where he will be responsible to lead Navy and Defense communications during national emergencies. 

    From 2013 to 2015, Tom served on the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Veteran Services Foundation, which provides funding for veterans services and programs in the Commonwealth through the Veteran Services Fund.  

    As a volunteer, Tom served as an elder, board member and teacher at Grace Life Community Church, former Chairman, Vice-Chair and member of the Victory Elementary School Advisory Council, and founder of the Victory Elementary School Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program.   

    Tom is a native of Monroe, LA and is a graduate of University of Louisiana at Monroe (BBA) and Regent University (MA). 

    Tom is married to the former Theresa Mayo of New Iberia, LA. They have two children and reside in Nokesville, Virginia.
