Residents, businesses, and landscaping professionals in Prince William County must separate yard waste from regular refuse between March and December. Haulers will only collect yard waste in compostable paper bags or designated containers labeled "Yard Waste." Haulers will not collect any yard waste in plastic bags. Contact your contracted hauler for collection schedules.
We have the answer! Residents bringing regular household trash, recyclable materials and yard waste to disposal facilities free of charge, while certain city and town municipalities, waste haulers and commercial users will be assessed a fee.
Solid Waste Management offers essential guidance on the proper disposal methods for various items like household appliances, electronics, yard waste, and hazardous materials. Following these guidelines will not only preserves landfill space but also ensure the safety of solid waste personnel and contribute to creating a sustainable environment where residents can thrive.
Do you need to dispose of organic waste collected outside of your home such as leaves, plants, flowers, grass clippings, wood chips or trimmings from shrubs and trees? If so bring them to the County Landfill or Compost Facility.
